The Lead Official

A Lead Official is someone who oversees all officials at the event.  They are responsible for being the central contact for all activities of the event and ensure that all responsibilities are conducted fairly and safely for the athletes.

Lead Official Training & Event Information

  • Register for an annual Youth Officials License (No need if already a licensed coach) CLICK FOR SPORTSENGINE
  • First Year Leads and those in between Background & Safe Sport/ABS Training must complete both Online Matchmaker and Inspector Training. This is not a test but a method to reinforce the information that is required. 
  • ONLINE MATCHMAKER/ PROMOTER TRAINING  (Use access code – USFL)  Click through on logical answers
  • ONLINE INSPECTOR TRAINING    (Use access code – USFL)  Click through on all logical answers 
  • The Lead Official should download and Bring the Check in Script to be read just prior to check in for each event. 
  • The Lead Official should ensure Judges have their Judges Score Cards.
  • The Lead Official should download and bring the Weight and Age Spread guidelines to weigh in.
  • The Lead Officials Bout Card and other Competition Documents are in the Lead Official Section of the Document Library.

Lead officials are responsible to enter Results into database

It’s highly recommended that Lead Officials use either Smoothcomp or the Excel Form to run competitions.
